The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to be officially released on March 11th, but eager customers can already secure their pre-orders. One exciting new feature of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the Virtual Aperture function for the camera, offering users some playful additional options to enhance their photography experience.

Previously, the Virtual Aperture feature was accessible through an app called Expert RAW on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, limited to the main camera. However, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, this feature is integrated as a built-in setting that can be adjusted for the 3x and 5x lenses. This expansion allows users more creative freedom by enabling them to fine-tune the blur effect strength for the aperture, enhancing the focus on their subjects.

In an interesting development, Samsung is currently contemplating the possibility of bringing the Virtual Aperture feature from the Galaxy S26 Ultra to the Galaxy S25 series. While this is not a confirmed decision, the fact that Expert RAW is already in use suggests that the Galaxy S25 devices have the capability to support this feature. Since it is software-based rather than reliant on hardware, there is potential for this enhancement to be implemented.

Despite the speculation, there is no concrete assurance from Samsung regarding the integration of this feature into older flagship models. While users may hope for this addition to the native camera app, it remains a prospect for the future. In the meantime, utilizing Expert RAW can provide users with greater control over their photographs, offering a viable alternative.

Nevertheless, the convenience of having the Virtual Aperture feature directly accessible in the native camera app is undeniable. Although there is no official confirmation of its availability on older devices, users can familiarize themselves with its functions and effects through Expert RAW. This way, users can anticipate the potential benefits of this feature if Samsung decides to extend it to other devices in the future.
