Phil Van Court Promoted to President of Scoular
OMAHA, NEB. — Phil Van Court, grain division vice president and general manager, has been appointed as the new president of Scoular, starting June 1.
As part of the company’s succession plan, Van Court will take on some of the responsibilities previously held by David Faith, who is the current president and chairman of the board. Moving forward, Faith will focus on the corporate governance of Scoular as chairman.
Van Court will make the transition from his current role to the president position this summer, reporting directly to Paul Maass, the chief executive officer. In his new role, he will assist Maass in guiding Scoular’s long-term business direction, including capital allocation, growth strategies, board leadership, and building relationships with industry leaders, customers, partners, and government officials.
Van Court is the grandson of Scoular’s late founder, Marshall Faith, and is also the nephew of David Faith. Since joining Scoular in 2003, he has held various positions in different locations, starting as a trainee in Kansas. He has since worked as a merchandiser, facility manager, regional manager, vice president of operations, and has been a member of the Scoular board of directors since 2013.
Since 2021, Van Court has overseen the operations of the grain division’s network of more than 65 facilities primarily located in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois.
Paul Maass praised Van Court, stating, “Phil is a principled leader whose career path reflects his dedication to Scoular’s employees, partners, and communities. He sees leading at Scoular as a great honor, and both David and I are excited to see him assume this new role.”
