Tesla Expands Robotaxi Service to Dallas and Houston
Tesla has announced the expansion of its robotaxi service to Dallas and Houston, as revealed in a recent social media post by the company. The post excitedly states that “Robotaxi is now rolling out in Dallas & Houston 🤠” and features a brief 14-second video showcasing Tesla vehicles operating without human monitors or drivers in the front seat.
The company now offers its robotaxi service in three cities, all located in Texas. This expansion comes after the successful launch of the service in Austin last year and the commencement of rides without safety drivers in January 2026. However, Tesla disclosed in a February filing that its robotaxis in Austin have been involved in 14 crashes since their introduction.
In addition to its robotaxi service, Tesla also provides a more limited ride service with human drivers in the San Francisco Bay Area. While the company is expanding its reach to Dallas and Houston, it appears that the number of vehicles in operation in these new markets is currently limited. Data from the Robotaxi Tracker website shows only one active vehicle in each city, in contrast to the 46 vehicles in operation in Austin.
As Tesla continues to grow its presence in the autonomous vehicle market, it will be interesting to see how the robotaxi service evolves in Dallas and Houston. Stay tuned for more updates on Tesla’s innovative transportation solutions.
