SpotDraft Raises $8 Million for On-Device Contract Review AI

SpotDraft, a company specializing in privacy-first enterprise AI, has secured $8 million from Qualcomm Ventures in a strategic Series B extension. This funding will support the scaling of SpotDraft’s on-device contract review technology, which is designed to cater to regulated legal workflows without compromising sensitive data by sending it to the cloud.

The recent investment values SpotDraft at approximately $380 million, nearly doubling its post-money valuation of $190 million after its $56 million Series B round in February last year.

Privacy Concerns Drive Demand for On-Device AI

Enterprises, particularly those in regulated sectors, are increasingly exploring generative AI technologies. However, concerns around privacy, security, and data governance have hindered the adoption of such technologies for sensitive workflows, especially in legal contexts where contracts contain confidential information like intellectual property, pricing details, and deal terms. Research in the industry has consistently highlighted data security and privacy as significant barriers to wider deployment of AI in professional services, prompting companies like SpotDraft to develop solutions that prioritize keeping core contract intelligence on the user’s device rather than transmitting it to the cloud.

SpotDraft showcased its VerifAI workflow at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2025, demonstrating how the technology can run contract review and edits offline on Snapdragon X Elite-powered laptops while keeping the document locally stored. Although internet connectivity is required for certain functionalities like login, licensing, and collaboration features, SpotDraft ensures that contract review, risk scoring, and redlining can be conducted entirely offline without the need to send documents to the cloud.

Legal Industry as a Testing Ground for On-Device AI

SpotDraft views the legal sector as an ideal proving ground for on-device enterprise AI, emphasizing that sensitive contracts often cannot be routed through external cloud models due to strict privacy, security, and compliance constraints.

Shashank Bijapur, co-founder and CEO of SpotDraft, highlighted the importance of having AI capabilities close to the document for privacy-critical, latency-sensitive, and legally sensitive tasks. The company’s co-founder and CTO, Madhav Bhagat, explained that VerifAI goes beyond generating summaries, offering features that align with existing legal workflows by applying playbooks and recommendations directly within Microsoft Word.

Future Prospects and Expansion Plans

Recognizing the growing demand for on-device AI in tightly regulated sectors like defense and pharma, SpotDraft is focused on enhancing its product and AI capabilities while expanding its presence across the Americas, EMEA region, and India. The company plans to leverage Qualcomm’s expertise not only in financing but also in joint development and go-to-market efforts for on-device deployments. As on-device AI models continue to evolve, SpotDraft anticipates broader adoption as compatible AI PC hardware becomes more readily available.

Qualcomm Ventures’ senior vice president, Quinn Li, commended SpotDraft for its ability to securely deploy proprietary models on-device using Snapdragon platforms, citing it as a significant advancement for privacy-critical industries.

With a team of over 300 employees based in Bengaluru and New York, SpotDraft has seen substantial growth in its customer base, processing over 1 million contracts annually. The company’s revenue has experienced significant year-over-year growth, with plans for further expansion and innovation fueled by the recent funding round.

SpotDraft’s journey, supported by investors like Qualcomm Ventures, underscores the increasing demand for privacy-first AI solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of regulated industries, paving the way for a new era of on-device AI applications.

When it comes to planning a wedding, there are a million and one things to think about. From choosing the perfect dress to finding the right venue, every decision plays a crucial role in creating a memorable and special day. One often overlooked aspect of wedding planning, however, is the music.

Music sets the tone for the entire event, from the ceremony to the reception. It can evoke emotions, create a sense of atmosphere, and bring people together on the dance floor. When it comes to selecting the right music for your wedding, there are a few key things to consider.

First and foremost, think about the type of atmosphere you want to create. Are you envisioning a romantic and intimate ceremony, or a lively and energetic reception? The music you choose should reflect the vibe you want to create. For a more traditional wedding, classical music or soft instrumental pieces can help set a romantic tone. For a more modern and upbeat affair, consider a live band or DJ to get the party started.

Next, consider the logistics of your wedding venue. Will you be getting married outdoors or in a large ballroom? The acoustics of your venue can have a big impact on the type of music that will work best. If you’re planning an outdoor ceremony, for example, you may want to opt for acoustic musicians or a string quartet to ensure that the music is heard clearly.

Lastly, don’t forget to consider your own personal taste in music. Your wedding day should be a reflection of you as a couple, so choose songs that are meaningful to you both. Whether it’s a special song that holds sentimental value or a fun dance number that gets everyone on their feet, the music you choose should be a reflection of your personalities and relationship.

In conclusion, music is a key element in creating a memorable and special wedding day. By carefully considering the atmosphere you want to create, the logistics of your venue, and your own personal taste in music, you can ensure that the soundtrack to your big day is perfect in every way. So don’t overlook this important aspect of wedding planning – choose your music wisely and let the music set the tone for a day you’ll never forget.
