Campbell’s has taken action against an IT executive following allegations of disparaging remarks made about the company’s food and Indian workers. The lawsuit, filed by former employee Robert Garza, claimed that Vice President of Information Technology Martin Bally made derogatory comments about Campbell’s products and its employees.

Garza alleges that he was fired in retaliation for wanting to report Bally, who was recorded saying negative things about the company’s food, including claims that it uses bioengineered meat and “chicken that came from a 3D printer.” In response to the allegations, Campbell’s stated that Bally was no longer employed with the company as of November 25.

As the controversy surrounding Bally’s comments grew on social media, Campbell’s vehemently denied the claims about its ingredients and use of bioengineered meat. The company clarified that its meat comes from USDA-approved suppliers and does not allow antibiotics to be used by its chicken farmers. Campbell’s also stated that it does not use 3D-printed or lab-grown chicken in its soups.

The lawsuit, filed in the Michigan Circuit Court for Wayne County, named Campbell’s, Bally, and Garza’s manager as defendants. Garza’s attorneys allege that Bally made derogatory remarks about Indian workers and admitted to coming to work under the influence of marijuana edibles.

In response, Campbell’s emphasized that the alleged comments do not align with the company’s values and culture. The company expressed regret for any harm caused by the remarks and reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality food products to consumers.

Campbell’s, known for its soups and sauces, has experienced increased demand for its products as more consumers seek value and convenience in their meals. The company reassured consumers of the high-quality ingredients used in its products and emphasized its dedication to providing good food at a good value.

Overall, Campbell’s response to the situation underscores its commitment to transparency, quality, and respect for all employees. The company’s swift action in addressing the allegations demonstrates its commitment to upholding its values and maintaining the trust of its customers.
