YouTube Users Can Now Hide End-Screen Video Choice

YouTube has finally addressed the concerns of users who find the end-screen video recommendations distracting. In response to feedback from its community, YouTube has introduced a new feature that allows users to hide these pop-ups that appear at the end of a video.

To hide these recommendations, users simply need to click on the new “hide” button that can be found at the top right corner of the end screen. This change aims to improve the overall user experience on the platform, as the constant recommendations were proving to be a nuisance for many viewers.

However, there is a catch to this new feature. The “hide” option only applies to the video that is currently being watched. This means that users will have to select the option each time they come across an end screen. If users wish to see the recommendations again, they can easily switch back to the “show” option.

Creators on YouTube may have concerns about this new feature affecting the views on their videos, especially from the end screen. However, YouTube assures that the impact is minimal, with tests showing only a 1.5 percent drop in views from end screens with the hide button activated.

In addition to the hide feature, YouTube is also making changes to its desktop version by removing the “subscribe” button that appears when hovering over the channel watermark. This move is aimed at simplifying and enhancing the viewing experience for users.

In other updates, YouTube Shorts has integrated Google’s Veo 3 technology, allowing creators to easily generate eight-second videos with sound using simple text prompts. This feature is currently being rolled out in select regions, with plans for further expansion in the future.

Overall, these changes reflect YouTube’s commitment to enhancing user experience and providing a more seamless viewing experience for its global audience.
