The smartphone market has a new player vying for the title of the best camera phone in the world. The Vivo X300 Ultra has made its debut in China, with plans for a global release in the near future.
Vivo has set a new standard with the impressive camera system featured in the X300 Ultra. The main highlight is the use of a groundbreaking 200MP Sony LYT-901 sensor, setting a new benchmark for smartphone photography. This sensor, with its large 1/1.12-inch size, allows for exceptional light capture and depth of field. The main lens of the camera boasts a 35mm focal length, providing a realistic perspective favored by street photographers.
The X300 Ultra also includes a periscope telephoto lens equipped with a 200MP ISOCELL HP0 sensor. With an 85mm focal length and advanced CIPA 7.0 stabilization, this camera delivers outstanding performance. Additionally, there is a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP True Color lens with 12 spectral channels to ensure accurate color reproduction and natural lighting in photos.
In addition to its impressive camera capabilities, the X300 Ultra is geared towards professional-grade video recording. It introduces support for the APV codec, enabling high-quality video recording and streamlined post-production workflows. Users can shoot in 4K at 120fps Log video, utilize custom 3D LUTs in real-time, and benefit from a quad-mic setup for immersive audio capture.
Vivo is also offering external lens attachments for the X300 Ultra, such as the “Cannon 400” teleconverter and the compact “Lipstick 200” zoom lens. There is even an optional “Imaging Grip Kit” that transforms the phone into a traditional camera-like device with physical shutter buttons and cooling fans.
Powering the X300 Ultra is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and a massive 1TB of storage in the top-tier Satellite Communication Edition. The phone features a stunning 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate for a smooth viewing experience.
For global users, the X300 Ultra offers a generous 6,600mAh battery capacity, with support for 100W wired and 40W wireless fast charging. The phone will be available in Film Green, Silver Tone, and Black color options, with prices starting at 6,999 yuan (~$1,013) for the base model and going up to 8,999 yuan (~$1,302) for the top-tier version.
While the official global launch date and pricing details are yet to be announced, the anticipation for the Vivo X300 Ultra’s international debut is high. With its groundbreaking camera system, powerful hardware, and innovative features, the X300 Ultra is set to make a significant impact in the smartphone market and compete for the title of the new king of mobile photography.
