Last month, Colorado’s governor signed legislation that could be heading toward your state soon. The bill funnels government dollars toward elective abortions through Medicaid. The fiscal note attached to the bill claims that such actions will save money for the state because it’s “cheaper to abort children than pay for that baby to be born.”
That kind of callous attitude toward life ignores the value of the baby and fails to recognize the damage abortion does to women – physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I’m talking about this important topic on Focus on the Family with Jim Daly with my guests:
- Dr. Bill Lile – a speaker, an author, and an OB/GYN who proudly promotes prolife values.
- Robyn Chambers – Focus on the Family’s Vice President of Advocacy for Children.
Dr. Lile and Robyn shine light on the dangers of the abortion pill and how it impacts women.
They tell me:
- More than one in ten patients experiences a serious adverse event from the abortion pill.
- Nearly 11% of women experience sepsis, infection, hemorrhaging, or another serious adverse event within 45 days following the use of mifepristone.
- The rate of serious adverse events following mifepristone is at least 22 times as high as the summary figure of “less than 0.5%” in clinical trials reported on the drug label.
Before I close, one of the best things you can do to support life is to participate in our Option Ultrasound program. Pregnancy resource centers minister to the woman, the man, the baby, extended family – everyone involved. Focus supports these centers through our Option Ultrasound program, which provides grants for sonogram training and technology. To date, more than 800 ultrasound machines have been placed around the country, and more than 500,000 babies have been saved.
We’re working hard to raise that number to one million saved babies in the near future. With that in mind, I’d like to extend an invitation for you to become a special partner with us through our monthly “Friends of Focus on the Family” program. What’s amazing is that it only takes $60 to save a baby’s life by providing ultrasound machines and additional resources.

Thank you for touching others with the love of Christ.
