Spotify Enhances AI DJ Interaction with Voice Commands
Spotify is taking steps to make its AI DJ feature more engaging by allowing users to request music or change playlist moods using voice commands. This new update is being rolled out in over 60 markets for premium subscribers and is currently only available in English.
Previously, users could only listen to the AI DJ play music with occasional commentary. Now, Spotify is introducing an interactive element to the feature, allowing users to have more control over their listening experience.
With this update, users can now instruct the AI DJ to change the genre, mood, or even play tracks from specific artists. This level of customization adds a new dimension to the listening experience on Spotify.
Users can easily access the AI DJ by searching for it in the search bar and holding the DJ button located at the bottom right corner of the screen to make voice commands. For a quick change in playlist mood without specific requests, users can simply press the DJ button.
Spotify initially introduced the AI DJ feature in February 2023 in the U.S. and Canada, followed by a global rollout in August 2023. The company also added support for a Spanish-speaking AI DJ last year, expanding the feature’s accessibility to a wider audience.
Another notable AI feature from Spotify allows users to create playlists using text prompts, further enhancing the platform’s user experience and customization options.
