Make Delicious Pizza Without an Ovenproof Skillet
If you don’t have a big ovenproof skillet, don’t worry. You can still make this tasty pizza in a 9×13-inch pan with the same baking time and servings.
Ingredients:
- Crust: 2 cups (260 grams) all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon instant yeast, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1 cup lukewarm water, olive oil
- To finish: 3/4 cup tomato sauce, 6 ounces mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup pecorino romano or parmesan cheese, salt, pepper flakes, dried oregano, fresh basil
Instructions:
Make the Dough: Combine flour, yeast, and salt in a bowl. Add water and olive oil, mix well, cover, and let rise for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Assemble the Pizza: Preheat oven to 450°F. Oil a 12-inch cast-iron skillet, place dough in the pan, dimple it, and let it proof for 30 minutes.
To Assemble: Spread sauce on the dough, top with cheeses, seasonings, and olive oil.
Bake the Pizza: Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
To Serve: Garnish with fresh basil, cut into wedges, and enjoy!
Leftovers: Reheat slices in the oven for 5-10 minutes at 350°F or 375°F.
