Samsung has been actively enhancing the security of its Android devices, particularly the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series, by rolling out the April 2026 security update. Following the flagship models, Samsung is now concentrating on updating its budget-friendly phones like the Galaxy A54 with the latest Android security patch.
The Galaxy A54 is currently receiving the April 2026 security update in Samsung’s home market of South Korea, with the firmware version changing to A546SKSSGEZC2. The update will soon be available for Galaxy A54 units worldwide after the rollout in Korea.
The update is being distributed gradually over the air, so it may take some time for all Galaxy A54 devices to receive it. Users can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install on their devices.
The April 2026 update for the Galaxy A54 addresses a total of 47 security vulnerabilities, with Google fixing 33 issues, Samsung Mobile addressing 10, and Samsung Semiconductor resolving four. Google has classified 14 of the fixes as critical, 18 as high-severity, and one as moderate security.
Samsung Mobile has categorized three of its fixes as high severity and five as moderate, while Samsung Semiconductor has identified four vulnerabilities as high severity. In addition to the Galaxy A54, Samsung plans to release the April 2026 security patch for several other Galaxy A and M series devices later this month. Recently, the company launched the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 on April 9.
The Galaxy A37 offers a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a 50MP triple camera system, and IP68 durability starting at $449, with six years of updates included. On the other hand, the Galaxy A57 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 50MP triple cameras, and up to 12GB of RAM with the Exynos 1680 processor, starting at $549.
