Samsung has recently introduced new OLED TVs this year with AI capabilities and an upgraded Tizen 9.0 operating system. For users with Samsung TVs from the previous year eagerly awaiting the Tizen 9 update, there is good news. Reports indicate that Samsung has commenced the rollout of the Tizen 9 update for Samsung’s 2024 TV lineup in Europe.
Some of the Samsung TV models from last year are already receiving the Tizen 9 update in Europe. According to a report by Flatpanels, Samsung’s 2024 TV owners in Europe have started receiving the firmware version 2106.0, which upgrades the operating system from Tizen 8.0 to Tizen 9.0. The update has been confirmed for at least twelve 2024 Samsung TV models in Europe, including OLED TV models like S85D, S90D, and S95D, as well as 8K Mini-LED TV models such as QN900D and QN800D.
If you own a Samsung 2025 Mini-LED series TV model like QN85D, QN90D, or QN95D in Europe, make sure to check for the Tizen 9 update. Additionally, last year’s QLED TV models like Q60D, Q70D, and Q80D, as well as the 2024 version of “The Frame” model, have also reportedly received the Tizen update in Europe.
While European users can already enjoy the latest OS update, users in other regions will have to wait for the rollout. It is expected that Samsung will start rolling out the Tizen 9 update for last year’s TV models in the US in the coming weeks, although no official confirmation has been provided by the company yet.
The Tizen 9 update brings a refreshed design and some tweaks to the settings menus. One noticeable change in Tizen 9-powered Samsung TVs is a more focused and cleaner interface, providing a more streamlined user experience. Additionally, users can now customize menu sizes and transparency according to their preferences.
