Samsung introduced the highly anticipated Galaxy Book 6 series laptops earlier this year at CES 2026. After a period of anticipation, these laptops finally became available for purchase in the US in March. However, those interested in buying one may be disappointed to learn that the prices for the Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Pro and Galaxy Book 6 Ultra have significantly increased in the US just a month after their launch.
The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, which originally started at $2,449, now has a starting price of $2,899, marking a $450 price increase within a short period. Similarly, the Galaxy Book 6 Pro, initially priced at $1,599, is now being sold for $1,799, reflecting a $200 price hike.
These price adjustments affect the entire lineup, including the base models mentioned above. The highest-tier Galaxy Book 6 Ultra model now costs $3,599, while a similar Galaxy Book 6 Pro model is priced at $2,449. While it is disappointing to see prices rise so soon after the product launch, it is likely due to increased component costs, which Samsung has had to pass on to consumers.
Apart from laptops, Samsung has also raised the prices of its Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 512GB and 1TB models by $80 in the US, citing rising component and memory costs as the reason behind the increase. Fortunately, the 256GB version has maintained its original price.
Samsung is not alone in this trend of price hikes, as other tech brands have also followed suit. Lenovo tablets in the US recently saw a significant price increase, and Motorola raised prices across its Moto G 2026 lineup. OPPO, Vivo, and OnePlus have also adjusted their device prices in certain regions to account for rising costs.
It is evident that the current market conditions are influencing tech companies to adjust their prices to remain sustainable. As consumers, it is important to stay informed about these changes and make purchasing decisions accordingly.
