Oppo has recently introduced its newest flagship foldable device, the Find N6, and I had the opportunity to test it out early. After using it as my primary device for a few weeks, I can confidently say that it might just be the best folding phone I have come across so far.
Let’s address the elephant in the room right away. Unfortunately, the Find N6 will not be launching in the UK or Europe. Oppo has decided to focus on Asian markets, as well as Australia and New Zealand for this particular model.
It’s truly a missed opportunity because, based on my experience with the device, it offers some unique advantages that set it apart from other foldable phones on the market. In fact, it could potentially be the top contender in the foldable phone category.
One of the standout features of the Find N6 is its nearly invisible crease. While it’s impossible to completely eliminate the crease due to the laws of physics, Oppo has managed to make it incredibly subtle compared to other folding phones. Running your fingers over the crease, you’ll notice how minimal it feels, thanks to Oppo’s innovative Titanium Flexion Hinge and meticulous manufacturing process.
Most folding phones have a slight height difference at the crease, typically around 0.2mm. However, the Find N6 boasts an impressively minimal height variance of just 0.05mm, thanks to Oppo’s advanced manufacturing techniques.
The phone’s durability is another highlight. The Find N6 strikes a balance between beauty and robustness. While it may not be as slim as some of its competitors like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, it exudes a sense of solidity that instills confidence in its build quality. The flexible glass on the folding display is 50% thicker than the previous generation, offering enhanced durability and resilience.
The Find N6 is also IP58 and IP59 certified, providing excellent water resistance, although it falls short in dust resistance compared to some other models. The phone is available in two striking color options, Stellar Titanium, and Blossom Orange, with the latter sure to turn heads with its vibrant appearance.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Find N6 features a 50Mp ultrawide camera, a 200Mp main camera, and a 50Mp 3x telephoto camera with macro capabilities on the rear. While the sensors may be slightly smaller than those on other flagship phones, they deliver impressive results, especially in favorable lighting conditions.
The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, offering exceptional performance for gaming and multitasking. The large 6000mAh battery ensures long-lasting usage, with rapid charging capabilities up to 80W with the right charger.
ColorOS enhances the user experience with intuitive multitasking features, allowing users to seamlessly switch between apps and windows. Overall, the Find N6 delivers a powerhouse performance in a sleek and durable package.
While the Find N6 may not be available in all regions, there is hope that future models or collaborations with other brands like OnePlus could bring similar innovations to a broader market. As technology continues to evolve, we can only anticipate what the future holds for foldable devices.
