A recent leak has brought to light the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Even though the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro were released just over a year ago in July 2024, rumors about their successors are already circulating. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Samsung is gearing up to launch these new earbuds anytime soon.
Historically, there has been a gap of nearly two years between the release of Samsung’s earbud series. It is likely that the company will follow a similar timeline with the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Nevertheless, the early appearance of these names is intriguing, especially considering where they were discovered. While it’s too early to confirm the launch date of the Galaxy Buds 4, rumors suggest they might debut alongside the Galaxy S26 next year.
The mention of the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro can be traced back to the code of One UI 8.5, as reported by Android Authority. The latest version of One UI has been leaked recently, with some users getting their hands on screenshots from the build.
Within the code of One UI 8.5, a user named That Josh Guy on X found references to the upcoming earbuds. The Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are mentioned in the code, with their model numbers also revealed. The Galaxy Buds 4 is associated with the model number SM-R540, while the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro is linked to the model number SM-R640. This aligns with Samsung’s consistent naming scheme, as the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro carries the model number SM-R630.
The leak has sparked excitement among tech enthusiasts, hinting at what Samsung has in store for its next generation of true wireless earbuds. Stay tuned for more updates on the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro as the official launch date approaches.
