Julia Rehwald, known for her role in Fear Street, has been announced as the newest addition to the cast of the popular series One Piece. She will be portraying Tashigi, a skilled swordsman and member of Smoker’s crew.
Joining the cast alongside Rehwald is Rob Colletti, best known for his role in The Many Saints of Newark, who will be taking on the role of Wapol, the former ruler of the Drum Kingdom turned pirate. Ty Keogh will also be joining the cast as Dalton, the new king of the Drum Kingdom.
Clive Russell, famous for his role in Game of Thrones, will be playing Crocus, an old doctor who oversees the Twin Cape Lighthouse and cares for the whale Laboon. Brendan Murray, known for his work in Warrior and Raised by Wolves, will be portraying Brogy the Red Ogre, the co-captain of the Giant Warrior Pirates. Werner Coetser will star as Dorry the Blue Ogre, Brogy’s brother and co-captain.
Netflix has also announced the casting of four actors to play villains from the crime syndicate Baroque Works. David Dastmalchian will be playing Mr. 3, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, and Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9.
In addition to the new cast members, the second season of One Piece may see the return of familiar faces such as Langley Kirkwood as Captain Morgan, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Captain Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy the Clown, Alexander Maniatis as Klahadore/Kuro, Peter Gadiot as Shanks, Steven John Ward as Dracule Mihawk, and Craig Fairbrass as Chef Zeff.
Netflix has already confirmed a third season of One Piece, with production set to begin in autumn in Cape Town, South Africa. The release date for season 3 is yet to be announced, but fans can expect it to premiere after season 2.
