Exciting news has been teased by Nothing, hinting at a new product that has left fans guessing.
The London-based tech company recently shared a retro image of the Pokémon Feraligatr on X, sparking speculation about an upcoming product. Nothing is known for giving its products Pokémon-themed codenames, leading to curiosity about what this new release could be.
While the exact details remain a mystery, there are some clues that suggest what it might not be.
Speculation on Nothing’s Feraligatr Product
On the Nothing community page, Community Manager Rob Goodwin shared the same image with the caption ‘Here comes Feraligatr.’ He hinted at a new product and encouraged speculation from followers.
The term “new product” implies that it may not be a Nothing Phone (3) Pro or Ultra. Carl Pei, co-founder and CEO of Nothing, previously stated that the 3 series of phones was complete with the launch of the Nothing Phone (3), ruling out a continuation of that line.
Nothing
Could it be the Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition, a new variant of an existing model developed in collaboration with Nothing’s fans? While this model is confirmed to be in the works, it may not qualify as a completely “new product.”
Comparing to the past release of the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition, which did not introduce a new codename like the Nothing Phone (2a) did, the speculation continues.
Possibility of a Nothing Tablet or Smartwatch
Some fans speculate that the Nothing Feraligatr could be Nothing’s first tablet or a premium smartwatch under the Nothing brand. While Nothing has previously released smartwatches under the CMF sub-brand, like the CMF Watch Pro 2, a move into the upscale smartwatch market is not out of the question.
Many Nothing phone users are eagerly awaiting the promised Android 16 update, expected to arrive later this autumn. Interestingly, Feraligatr is Pokédex number 160 – could this hint at a new software product rather than hardware? The possibilities are endless.
As the anticipation builds, fans can only wait and see what Nothing has in store for them.
