Nothing has recently revealed the official specifications for its upcoming over-ear headphones, following the release of official renders of the distinctive Nothing Phone (3). Thanks to Yogesh Brar, we now have a closer look at what to expect from Nothing’s first pair of over-ear headphones.
In a recent announcement, Nothing confirmed that they have been working on these over-ear headphones, set to be launched in the Summer. These headphones will weigh approximately 329g, making them heavier than the Sony WH-1000XM6 at 252g, yet lighter than the Apple AirPods Max at 384g. Nothing has hinted that their headphones will offer superior performance compared to the AirPods Max.
When it comes to audio quality, Nothing has equipped these headphones with 40mm drivers and has collaborated with KEF for the sound technology. KEF, a renowned British company specializing in high-end audio equipment such as speakers, subs, and headphones, is known for its innovative audio technologies. This partnership is a strategic move by Nothing, considering Samsung’s successful collaboration with Harman Kardon, AKG, and JBL following Samsung’s acquisition of Harman a few years ago.
Nothing also revealed that these headphones will provide up to 80 hours of playback with ANC off, reducing to approximately 35 hours with ANC on using AAC. Switching to the LDAC codec, the playback times shift to 54 hours with ANC off and 30 hours with ANC on.
In addition to impressive battery life, the Nothing Headphones (1) come with a range of features such as Google Fast Pair support, on-head detection, Microsoft Swift Pair, Dual Connection, LED charging status, low lag mode, personal sound profile, and Find My Device. These headphones are packed with advanced functionalities to enhance the user experience.
The official announcement for the Nothing Headphones (1) is scheduled for July 1, coinciding with the launch of the Nothing Phone (3). Stay tuned for more updates on these highly anticipated products from Nothing.
