FBI Director Kash Patel’s Merchandise Website Shut Down Due to Malware Hijacking
Reports emerged on Friday that the merchandise website of FBI director Kash Patel was taken offline after being infiltrated by hackers attempting to infect visitors with malware. The incident was first reported by Straight Arrow News.
Based Apparel’s website is currently inaccessible as a result of the malware attack. Concerns were raised when a user known as Debbie highlighted on Thursday that the brand’s website seemed to be compromised with an infostealer, a malicious software designed to infiltrate victims’ systems and steal their credentials and passwords. Subsequent analysis of the malware was conducted by a security researcher.
Attempts to reach Brand Apparel for comment have been unsuccessful, with no response received from Patel’s associated Gmail address when contacted by JS.
Security Concerns Plague MAGA-Linked Businesses
This recent incident adds to a string of security issues affecting businesses associated with the MAGA movement. On the same day, Trump Mobile, the cell phone provider endorsed by President Trump, confirmed a data breach that exposed customers’ personal information online. Details such as names, email addresses, mailing addresses, cell numbers, and order identifiers were left vulnerable. The revelation followed a researcher alerting two YouTubers about their exposed data after purchasing phones from Trump Mobile.
