As someone who specializes in reviewing Android phones, I recently had the opportunity to delve into the world of Apple smartphones when I became the Mobile Editor last year. The experience of using the iPhone 16 Pro as my primary device was both eye-opening and enlightening. Here are some key takeaways from my two-week stint with the iPhone:

WhatsApp Woes:
Transferring WhatsApp data from Android to iOS can be a cumbersome process, but with the right approach, it can be managed effectively. Utilizing the ‘Linked device’ feature can simplify the transition and ensure seamless communication.

What Are All These Buttons?:
The iPhone 16 Pro’s design and build quality are commendable, but the additional buttons on the side may take some getting used to. While the Action Button proves to be a handy feature, the Camera Control button may not be as intuitive for some users.

Incredible Video:
When it comes to video quality, the iPhone 16 Pro shines, offering crisp detail, accurate colors, and smooth transitions that rival dedicated camera equipment. Its video capabilities outperform many Android counterparts, making it a top choice for videography enthusiasts.

Fantastic Face ID:
Apple’s Face ID technology continues to set the standard for facial recognition, offering a fast and reliable authentication method that works seamlessly in various lighting conditions. The ease of use and versatility of Face ID make it a standout feature on the iPhone.

iMessage Is Annoyingly Good:
Despite initial reservations, the iMessage app on the iPhone proves to be a versatile and feature-rich messaging platform. Its integration of SMS, MMS, and iMessages, along with seamless synchronization across Apple devices, sets it apart from other messaging apps.

Notification Nightmare:
One area where the iPhone falls short is its notification handling, which can be cumbersome compared to Android devices. The grouping of notifications into ‘Stacks’ and the limited control over notifications may hinder user experience for some individuals.

Not Much Control Center:
The iOS Control Center, while functional, may require some adjustment for users accustomed to Android’s quick settings menu. Some features may not behave as expected, such as the Wi-Fi toggle, which can lead to user frustration.

Painful Charging:
While the iPhone 16 Pro offers MagSafe magnetic charging, the absence of fast wired charging options may disappoint users seeking rapid charging capabilities. The device’s reliance on up to 25W charging may result in longer charging times compared to other flagship devices.

My Verdict on the iPhone in 2025:
In conclusion, the iPhone 16 Pro showcases the evolution of Apple’s smartphone technology, offering a blend of innovation and familiarity for users. While the transition from Android to iOS may present challenges, the iPhone’s impressive features and performance make it a compelling choice for smartphone enthusiasts.
