Google’s Gemini AI Assistant Coming to Nest Smart Home Devices
Recently, Google made an exciting announcement that its Gemini AI assistant will soon be available on Nest smart home devices, such as speakers, displays, doorbells, and more. If you’re interested in getting early access to this feature, here’s how you can sign up.
The introduction of Gemini to Nest devices is not surprising, considering Google has been gradually replacing Google Assistant on various devices, including smartphones and smartwatches. The company has stated that Gemini will be available on all smart devices manufactured in the last ten years.
This expansion includes not only the aforementioned devices but also cameras and the Google Home app. Additionally, Gemini will be integrated into the new Google Home Speaker, set to launch in the spring of 2026.
While there is no specific launch date for Gemini on Nest devices, users can already sign up for early access to ensure they are among the first to experience it. The rollout will begin this month for select devices.
Google has stated, “It will be available via an early access program because we want you to try all of these new features and continue giving us feedback as we work to perfect the experience.”
Here’s a quick and simple guide on how to sign up for early access:
- Open the Google Home app, ensuring it is version 4.0 or higher.
- Tap on the Settings icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down and select “Early access.”
- Tap on “Sign up.”
- You will receive a notification when Gemini for Home becomes available.
