Remembering Simon and Dieulina Raymond

In loving memory of my dear parents, Simon and Dieulina Raymond.

Simon and Dieulina Raymond were the pillars of our family, each embodying a unique expression of love that shaped the way we viewed the world. Simon’s gentle and generous nature complemented Dieulina’s fierce yet nurturing demeanor, creating a harmonious balance that continues to influence me to this day.

Simon, a gentle giant in every sense, exuded warmth and kindness in all he did. His quiet demeanor and steady presence brought a sense of calm to our home. He was a hardworking man, always returning from the farm with an abundance of fresh fruits to share with us. One of his endearing rituals was to always offer the youngest child a piece of meat from his own plate, symbolizing his belief that everyone deserved to be cared for and nurtured. His acts of kindness, such as cutting open a mango to share with us before indulging himself, and his comforting hugs, created a safe and loving environment for our family.

Dieulina, on the other hand, was a force to be reckoned with. She ran our household with precision and order, instilling in us the values of hard work and responsibility. Despite her firm exterior, she had a generous heart and was always ready to feed anyone who crossed our threshold. She pushed us to wake up early and help on the farm, teaching us the importance of diligence and perseverance.

Their love and guidance shaped my journey through education and beyond. Despite facing personal challenges, they supported me unwaveringly, instilling in me the values of compassion, structure, and resilience. Their passing left a void in my life, but their lessons continue to guide me in my professional and personal endeavors.

As I navigate through life’s challenges and strive to make a difference in the lives of others, I am reminded of the invaluable lessons imparted by my parents. Simon’s tenderness and Dieulina’s discipline live on in me, influencing the way I approach relationships and responsibilities. Their legacy of love, care, and support serves as a constant source of inspiration as I honor their memory in all that I do.

Their passing may have left a silence that lingers, but their presence remains palpable in every decision I make and every act of kindness I extend to others. In honoring their memory, I continue to carry forward the values and principles they instilled in me, ensuring that their legacy lives on through my actions and choices.
