Google TV has recently introduced new Gemini AI features that aim to enhance user interactions on the platform. These updates promise a smarter and more intuitive experience for users who have compatible Google TV screens and devices.
One of the key enhancements is the improved responses provided by Gemini when users ask questions. For instance, inquiring about sports scores will now display live scorecards and suggest where to watch the game. Similarly, requesting recipes will trigger video tutorials to guide users through the cooking process.
In addition to these improvements, Google has introduced a feature called “deep dives” on Gemini. This feature offers narrated visual breakdowns on educational topics such as health and wellness, economics, and technology. For example, users can explore the physiology of cold plunging with a step-by-step interactive guide and related follow-up questions.
To access these educational resources, users can look for the option to “Dive deeper” when launching a Gemini query on their Google TV or navigate to the Gemini tab and select “Learn.”
Furthermore, Google TV now offers sports briefs, providing narrated overviews of selected sports leagues, including player news and game summaries. Currently, these sports briefs cover American sports leagues such as the NBA, NCAA basketball, NHL, MLB, MLS, and NWSL.
While these new features are currently only available in North America, Google has announced plans to expand the Gemini voice assistant to Australia, New Zealand, and Great Britain in the coming spring.
Overall, these updates aim to make the Google TV experience more interactive and informative for users, offering a range of features to enhance their entertainment and educational pursuits. Stay tuned for these enhancements rolling out to Google TV screens and streamers in the US and Canada, with further expansions on the horizon.
