Google TV Homescreen Redesign: What You Need to Know
If you’ve noticed a change in your Google TV homescreen recently, you’re not imagining things. Google has rolled out a new redesign that is now available to users, starting with brands like TCL and Walmart Onn. This update marks one of the most significant changes to the Google TV homepage since its rebranding in 2020.
The key changes in the redesign focus on the top navigation bar. One major alteration that has sparked some user dissatisfaction is the removal of the Library tab. This means that accessing downloaded films and TV shows is no longer as straightforward as before. Users now need to click on their profile picture on the left side of the screen to access a drop-down menu containing options like Library, Watchlist, Your Services, and Content Services.
In the updated top menu, the For You tab has been renamed as Home, joining Live and Apps tabs. Settings and Screensaver options are now located in a separate box for easier access.

While these changes are currently rolling out in the US, international users may not have received the update yet. It’s possible that Google is still refining the layout before a full announcement.
