Exploring Beeple’s Latest Viral Installation at Art Basel Miami Beach
Renowned digital artist Mike Winkelmann, also known as Beeple, has once again captured the art world’s attention with his latest installation at Art Basel Miami Beach. The centerpiece of his exhibit, titled “Regular Animals,” features robotic dogs with hyper-realistic heads resembling prominent figures such as Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and art legends like Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol.
These $100,000 robotic dogs move around a plexiglass pen, equipped with chest-mounted cameras that capture images processed by AI. The unique twist? The images are then transformed into prints, with 256 of them containing QR codes that grant collectors a free NFT. These NFTs are distributed in bags labeled “Excrement Sample,” adding a quirky touch to Beeple’s innovative project.
Beeple has also included himself in this eclectic group of robotic dogs, a bold move that the artist himself described as “ballsy.” Surprisingly, his self-portrait dog was the first to be sold, showcasing Beeple’s unique vision and creativity.
This isn’t the first time Winkelmann has made waves in the art world. Four years ago, his digital collage sold for a staggering $69 million at Christie’s, contributing to the rise of the NFT phenomenon that reached its peak before experiencing a decline.
Don’t miss the opportunity to witness Beeple’s groundbreaking installation at Art Basel Miami Beach, as it continues to attract art enthusiasts until Sunday. Experience the intersection of art, technology, and creativity in a way that only Beeple can deliver.
