Would you know how to answer these questions if your children asked them?

  • Do all religions point to the same truth?
  • If Christianity is the only true religion, why are there so many denominations?
  • Why did Jesus die for our sins?

Providing biblical answers that children can understand isn’t always easy, much like when author Natasha Crain gave her four-year-old son his first swimming lesson. She’d tell him to hold his breath then she’d swish him through the water, but each time he’d come up choking and crying. Finally, he looked at Natasha and asked, “Mommy, what does breath mean?”

Christianity. Faith. Salvation. God. The Bible. It’s easy to forget that ideas and concepts that are second nature to us aren’t so obvious to others, especially children.

Natasha is joining me on Focus on the Family with Jim Daly to offer practical, tangible takeaways for answering your kids’ tough questions about Christianity. Among other questions, she outlines and answers the three I mentioned above. Tune in and hear how to help your children better understand the Christian faith.

Before I close, I’d like to extend an invitation for you to become a special partner with us through our monthly “Friends of Focus on the Family” program. When you do, I’ll send you a copy of Natasha’s book called Keeping Your Kids on God’s Side: 40 Conversations to Help Them Build a Lasting Faith as a way of saying thank you for touching others with the love of Christ. You’ll also receive member-exclusive benefits. To make your pledge, call 1-800-A-FAMILY (232-6459), or for more information, click here.
