Anheuser-Busch To Close Two Brewing Facilities in 2026
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance its manufacturing operations in the United States, Anheuser-Busch has announced the closure of two brewing facilities. The company will be shutting down plants in Fairfield, California, and Merrimack, New Hampshire, in early 2026. Additionally, it has sold its Newark, New Jersey, brewery to the Goodman Group.
This decision will result in the relocation of production from these three facilities to other Anheuser-Busch plants across the country. According to a company spokesperson, these changes will allow for increased investments in the remaining operations and the expansion of their portfolio of leading brands.
Approximately 475 full-time employees will be affected by these closures. However, Anheuser-Busch has assured that these workers will be offered alternative full-time positions within the company.
The company has been actively modernizing its manufacturing operations, with nearly $2 billion invested in the network, as stated by the spokesperson.
Focus on Brewery Upgrades
Earlier this year, Anheuser-Busch made significant investments in various breweries, including those in Los Angeles, St. Louis, and Baldwinsville, New York. These upgrades were part of a $300 million initiative aimed at enhancing manufacturing operations in the United States.
By strategically reallocating resources and investing in key facilities, Anheuser-Busch aims to strengthen its position in the brewing industry and continue providing high-quality products to consumers.
