Two Teenagers Accused of Carjacking Software Engineer Edward Coristine
Two 15-year-olds are facing charges of unarmed carjacking after an incident involving Edward “Big Balls” Coristine, a teenage software engineer and former intern at Neuralink who gained recognition for his work in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) during the Trump administration.
Reports from local authorities indicate that Coristine, who recently returned to federal service at the Social Security Administration to assist in enhancing the agency’s website, was attacked in Washington’s Logan Circle around 3 a.m. on a Sunday. Accompanied by his girlfriend, Coristine was approached by a group of approximately 10 teenagers who made threatening comments about taking their car. In an effort to protect his girlfriend, Coristine pushed her into the vehicle before engaging with the group, resulting in an altercation that was halted by the arrival of law enforcement.
Recognition from Musk and Trump
Following the incident, Elon Musk commended Coristine for his courage on his social media platform, X. Meanwhile, President Trump used the assault as a platform to advocate for treating teenagers as young as 14 as adults, sharing a graphic image of Coristine’s injuries on Truth Social.
