Samsung has recently unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge, a sleek flagship phone known for its ultra-thin design. However, one drawback of this model was its relatively modest 3,900mAh battery capacity, which fell short of the standards set by other smartphones in 2025. Fortunately, it seems that Samsung is addressing this issue with the upcoming Galaxy S26 Edge, as rumors suggest that it will boast a larger battery.

The latest reports, originating from a Chinese tipster on Weibo known as Instant Digital, indicate that the Galaxy S26 Edge will feature a 4,400mAh battery – a significant 12% increase from its predecessor. While this capacity may not be groundbreaking compared to the 6,000mAh and 7,000mAh batteries seen in other devices, it is a step in the right direction for the Edge lineup, which prioritizes design and optimization over raw battery power.

Interestingly, there is no indication that Samsung will be adopting the latest silicon-carbon battery technology for the Galaxy S26 Edge. This technology would allow for even larger batteries to be integrated into slim devices, but it seems that Samsung is sticking to traditional battery tech for now. How the company plans to accommodate a larger battery without compromising the device’s thin profile remains a mystery, but it is clear that maintaining the sleek design of the Galaxy Edge series is a top priority.

Overall, while the Galaxy S26 Edge may not be utilizing cutting-edge battery tech, the larger battery capacity is a welcome improvement that should enhance the device’s overall performance and longevity. As technology continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how Samsung and other manufacturers adapt to meet the growing demands of consumers.
