New firsthand accounts are indicating that choosing Samsung’s exclusive online colors for the Galaxy S25 and other devices may not be the wisest decision.
For quite some time now, Samsung has been luring customers to order its latest phones directly from its website by offering unique color options that are not available elsewhere.
Exclusive variants like the Titanium Jadegreen Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra can only be purchased through Samsung’s online portal.
However, the exclusivity of these colors can present a downside if you find yourself in need of a repair.
Samsung’s limited edition colors
As reported by Android Authority, a recent Reddit post from a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 user has shed light on a potential issue with online exclusive colors.
The user attempted to utilize the Samsung Care+ insurance program to arrange a repair through an authorized service center. However, there was a complication with the Icy Blue color, which was only available as an online exclusive. The repair center was unable to match this limited edition color.

Even when the user agreed to proceed with a different color, Samsung intervened, stating that the device would not activate if the colors did not match.
One would expect Samsung to have addressed this by providing appropriately colored replacement parts from their own inventory, but unfortunately, the manufacturer did not have any in stock either.
A replacement device was eventually provided… in a different color.
Perhaps sticking to classic colors is the way to go
While this is just one individual’s experience, several supporting comments below indicate that this may be a broader issue for Samsung.
If you are considering one of Samsung’s limited edition colors for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Flip 7 – rumored to include a Green Mint option – it is worth weighing the potential inconvenience this could pose in the event of a repair.
Opting for a traditional black or white option may seem mundane, but at least you can be assured that spare parts will be readily available in the future.
