ReMarkable, the E Ink tablet maker, has recently unveiled its latest monochrome device called the Paper Pure, marking a return to its traditional roots. Priced at $399, the Paper Pure follows the success of the monochrome reMarkable 2, boasting enhanced hardware and modern software features to stay competitive in today’s tablet market.

With a 10.3-inch diagonal display similar to its predecessor, the Paper Pure offers a wider screen for improved note-taking and reading experiences. The tablet maintains a resolution of 1872 x 1404 pixels and a pixel density of 226 PPI. Additionally, it comes with 32GB of storage, a fourfold increase from the previous model, and weighs approximately 360 grams, making it lighter and more portable.

ReMarkable claims that the Paper Pure is 50% more responsive than the reMarkable 2 and provides 30% more battery life with its 3,820 mAh battery. The company has also introduced several new features to enhance productivity, such as support for a web app, calendar syncing, note sharing, and improved handwriting search capabilities. The tablet seamlessly integrates with popular tools like Slack and Miro for enhanced collaboration and productivity.

In a strategic move, reMarkable has decided to discontinue production of the reMarkable 2, focusing on providing software updates and support for existing customers. The Paper Pure is available in two models – the base version includes a stylus, while the $449 variant comes with a premium stylus called Marker Plus with an eraser function and a sleeve folio in various colors. Orders for the device are now open, with shipping expected to commence in early June.

Having sold over 3.5 million devices and amassed 1.2 million subscribers for its Connect service, reMarkable continues to innovate in the digital productivity space. The Connect service offers unlimited cloud storage, exclusive templates, and advanced sharing capabilities for notes and sketches.
