AT&T has officially announced its latest plan, dubbed the ‘Elite 2.0’, following recent speculation. Priced at $110 per line or $75 per line for four lines, plus taxes and fees, the plan comes with a hefty price tag. Despite the cost, the new plan doesn’t seem to offer much in terms of additional features compared to the Premium plan. It lacks streaming perks and other benefits that would attract the average consumer.
The Elite 2.0 plan includes some notable upgrades from the Premium tier. Customers can enjoy 250GB of hotspot access, a significant increase from the 100GB offered in the Premium plan. Additionally, the plan includes 20GB of monthly international data for travelers. Another highlight is AT&T Turbo, which enhances data performance for activities like video calling, gaming, and live streaming.
Moreover, customers on the Elite 2.0 plan will receive a free smartwatch plan and a free tablet plan for each line. In contrast, the Premium tier only offers a 50% discount on tablet or wearable plans per line.
While the free smartwatch and tablet plan perk may appeal to households with multiple cellular devices, the overall value of the Elite 2.0 plan may not justify an upgrade for those already on the Premium plan. However, if you require ample hotspot data and frequently travel internationally, the new plan could be a suitable choice and potentially save you money in the long run.
Interestingly, AT&T has already touted the Elite 2.0 plan as its “best plan” on its website, possibly to attract customers who may not be as tech-savvy and are looking for a straightforward option.
