Dyson has just unveiled its latest innovation in the cleaning world – the PencilWash wet floor cleaner. Set to hit the market on March 4th in the UK and March 14th in the US, this sleek and lightweight device is priced at £299.99 and $349 respectively. While the cost may seem steep for a mop, the features it offers make it a worthwhile investment.
The PencilWash is a slim and agile cleaning solution, reminiscent of Dyson’s PencilVac, a cordless vacuum cleaner. Powered by Dyson’s new Hyperdymium motor, the PencilWash weighs only 2.2kg and boasts a 38mm handle. Despite its slender design, it can efficiently clean up to 100m² of flooring before needing a recharge, thanks to its removable battery.
Unlike traditional wet vacuums, the PencilWash utilizes a unique cleaning mechanism that does not draw water or debris through the handle. Instead, it features a 300ml clean water reservoir in the base, while dirty water and debris are collected in a separate tank for easy disposal and cleaning.
Equipped with a high-density microfibre roller, the PencilWash is designed to tackle tough stains effectively. It offers two hydration modes to ensure quick drying floors, making it a versatile cleaning tool for any household. Additionally, its compact size and exceptional manoeuvrability allow it to reach tight spaces and clean under furniture with ease.
As someone who has tested numerous wet vacuums, I understand the importance of a lightweight and agile cleaning solution. The PencilWash addresses these concerns by prioritizing ease of use and flexibility, making it a promising addition to Dyson’s lineup. Stay tuned for my upcoming review to see how the PencilWash performs in real-world testing.
