- Find the Hidden Rule: Look at the words tap, nap, sun, and bun. What letter change is happening each time? Use the same rule to change the word DOG.
- Bog (first letter is changed to something that comes before D)
- Find the Connection: Three of these words belong together: whisper, shout, talk, truck. Which word does not belong, and what is the rule that connects the other three?
- Build a Logical Riddle: One object fits all three clues: It has a spine, it holds ideas, and it can be opened but not eaten. Have kids explain how each clue points to the answer.
- Follow the Sound Pattern: Say these words out loud: bat, bet, bit. What vowel sound changes each time? Write the next word in the pattern and explain why it fits.
- Solve the Riddle: I help you dry off, but I get wetter the more I work. What am I?
