Reframe Your Week for Better Results

Recently, I had a conversation with a senior executive who shared a common sentiment among leaders. She confessed, “I often find myself wondering how I can work so hard yet neglect the important tasks like proactive planning, coaching my team, and focusing on strategy.” Does this sound familiar to you?

This feeling of working tirelessly but not making a significant impact is a challenge many leaders face. As we approach the end of the year, it becomes essential to reflect on our accomplishments and ensure we are focusing on what truly matters.

Here are some steps to help you restructure your week for better outcomes:

  1. Define Your Top Three Goals: Identify the three key results you want to achieve in the next 60 days that will contribute to your team and company’s overall success. Focus on outcomes rather than just tasks to prioritize effectively.
  2. Plan Your Week: Map out your weekly commitments, including meetings, reports, tasks, as well as any unexpected interruptions or requests that may arise.
  3. Utilize AI Assistance: Use AI tools to categorize your workload into coordinated work (tasks that drive results), operational work (tasks that can be delegated or automated), and work outside your mission (distractions or low-priority tasks).
  4. Make Adjustments: Review the breakdown of your tasks and make necessary adjustments to allocate time for important projects, delegate or automate routine tasks, and eliminate unnecessary distractions.

Many leaders who have implemented this approach have found it eye-opening. It highlights how much time and energy is spent on tasks that do not contribute significantly to their objectives.

While you can do this exercise manually, utilizing AI can streamline the process and provide unbiased insights into your workload. AI serves as a valuable tool to help you make informed decisions about how to best utilize your time and resources.

Give this method a try and see the difference it can make in your productivity and focus. As we enter the final months of the year, now is the perfect time to experiment with new strategies to enhance your effectiveness.

Share your experience with me after trying this approach. I look forward to hearing about your progress and success.

Best regards,

Sara
