Extending the battery life of your Android phone is essential for maximizing its utility and convenience. After all, what good are all those exciting apps and features if your phone is constantly running out of power?

Whether you’ve just purchased a new smartphone or have been using the same device for years, there are several simple yet effective tips to help you improve your phone’s battery life by up to 25%. Best of all, these tips are easy to implement as they are built-in features of the standard Android operating system.

1. Disable the Always-On Display

The Always-On Display feature can be convenient for quickly checking notifications, but it can drain your battery faster than you realize. To conserve power, go to Settings, navigate to “Display & touch,” and disable the Always-On Display. You can also adjust the screen brightness and turn off adaptive brightness to further extend your battery life.

2. Turn Off GPS When Not in Use

Location Services, particularly GPS, can consume a significant amount of battery power. If you’re not actively using navigation apps like Google Maps, consider disabling Location Services in Settings to save battery life. You can always enable it again when needed.

Facebook and other social media apps are notorious for draining battery life due to their resource-intensive nature. Consider uninstalling these apps or using them only when necessary to reduce background activity and preserve power.

4. Use Bedtime Mode

Bedtime Mode is a helpful feature that can reduce your phone usage and extend battery life. This mode dims the screen and converts it to black and white, making your phone less appealing and encouraging you to limit your usage. You can find this option in the Digital Wellbeing section of Settings.

5. Utilize “Flip to Shh”

Placing your phone face down can help minimize distractions and conserve battery power. Enable the “Flip to Shh” option in Settings to automatically activate Do Not Disturb mode when you place your phone face down. This simple gesture can also encourage you to use your phone less frequently.

6. Monitor Your Digital Wellbeing Usage

Check your Digital Wellbeing usage regularly to identify apps that consume the most battery and screen time. Consider removing or limiting the usage of these apps to improve battery life and reduce overall screen time.

7. Adjust Screen Timeout

Reducing the screen timeout duration can significantly impact battery life. By setting a shorter screen timeout period in Settings, you can ensure that your phone’s screen turns off quickly when not in use, conserving battery power in the process.

By incorporating these simple yet effective tips into your daily routine, you can optimize your Android phone’s battery life and enjoy extended usage without constantly worrying about running out of power. Give these strategies a try and experience the difference they can make in conserving battery power.
