Unveiling the 7 Facets of True Self Wisdom
The concept of a true and authentic self has been explored in various spiritual traditions, known as Buddha Nature in Buddhism, the Self with a capital ‘S’ in Hinduism, and as the great spirit or ‘Source’ in new age philosophy. This true self is the focus of Mystics and Meditation Masters throughout history, embodying different qualities known as the seven types of wisdom. Just like a rainbow displays seven colors originating from white light, these wisdoms are diverse expressions of the same source consciousness.
These seven types of wisdom exist innately within us but are often obscured by thoughts, distractions, and fears. By practicing each wisdom individually or simply being in a state of pure Being, we can tap into the essence of our true self. Meditation serves as a tool to uncover and nurture these wisdoms, allowing them to radiate through our lives and into the world.
1) The Wisdom of Impermanence
The wisdom of impermanence revolves around releasing attachment and clinging to transient phenomena. Embracing the constant flux and change in every moment allows us to flow with life’s rhythm. By accepting insecurity and impermanence, we can fully engage in the dance of existence.
2) Mirror-Like Wisdom
Mirror-like wisdom embodies the ability of awareness to reflect things as they are, without distortion or judgment. By clearing the mirror of the mind through practices like zazen, we can see reality with clarity and objectivity.
3) The Wisdom of Equality
The wisdom of equality entails viewing all beings and phenomena as equal manifestations of universal consciousness. By recognizing the oneness and interconnectedness of all things, we can cultivate true love and compassion.
4) All-Knowing Wisdom
All-knowing wisdom refers to the intuitive understanding that arises from merging with objects and beings through clear awareness. By observing ourselves and the world with a silent mind, we can gain profound insights and self-awareness.
5) All-Accepting Wisdom
All-accepting wisdom allows us to embrace both positive and negative experiences without resistance. By cultivating radical acceptance and spacious awareness, we can navigate life’s challenges with grace and equanimity.
6) Indestructible Wisdom
Indestructible wisdom reflects the unchanging and pure nature of awareness, akin to the sky or a mirror that remains unaffected by external conditions. By tapping into this core essence, we can find stability and confidence amidst life’s uncertainties.
7) The Wisdom of Love
Love is the bridge between individuality and oneness, shining light on the interconnectedness of all beings. By removing barriers to love and practicing unconditional acceptance, we can embody the radiant wisdom of our true self.
In conclusion, the journey of self-discovery and awakening to our true self involves uncovering and embodying these seven types of wisdom. By integrating these qualities into our daily lives through meditation and mindfulness, we can align with the essence of our true nature and radiate love and compassion into the world.
